It’s not the first time bugs are being heroes. In 2005, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency supported scientists in using honeybees in bomb detecting devices. Last year, DARPA-backed researchers at Agiltron Corporation began implanting larvae with micromechanical chemical sensors.

Hypersonic Air Force Glider traveling mach 20 disappears in test flight

Built by Lockheed Martin under a DARPA program, the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 (HTV-2) is designed to attack any target on the Earth within 1 hour. It can reach speeds of Mach 20 and was to make a touch down on the Pacific Ocean 30 minutes after a 4,100 nautical-mile flight just last week.

The Falcon is a different type of weapon, it’s equipped with high-power, but non-nuclear explosives that should remain undetected by nuclear defense systems.

DARPA seeking military-based iPhone and Android application information

The military group named DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) based in the Pentagon have recently announced a Request For Information (RFI) seeking iPhone and Android applications, may they be commercial or non-commercial, and to be used specifically for national security.

This request could just be to see who is out there and what they are doing, more of an intelligence operation if anything, as it states “This is an RFI issued solely for information gathering purposes” but that is custom for an RFP so highly unlikely.
