Annoying co-workers and unmanageable older brothers causing trouble in your life? Help has finally arrived, provided you own an iPhone 4S/4/3GS, or iPad/iPad2 or iPod touch (or all if you are rich and a bit crazy about all things ‘i’). The iLaunch Rocket Launcher is a weapons system which will allows you to rain darts on those who intrude your personal space; and it can be controlled with your iDevice.

Of course there are a lot of others ways to take care of the intruders, such as letting your fists do the talking. But that’s certainly not recommended as co-workers are humans who can get hurt and complain to your boss, and older brothers are usually bigger also.

The iLaunch Rocket Launcher, which allows you to take revenge on the annoying ones in an “entertaining and legal way”, will let you fire foam darts at targets as far as 25 feet away. All you have to do is get the iLaunch Controller App available free on the App Store and the launcher can be controlled via your iDevice (running iOS 5.0.1 or higher).

The iLaunch comes with air powered pistons for firing the darts and rechargeable Lithium battery which can be charged via your computer’s USB port.

But it doesn’t look like it can actually give you immunity from the annoying intruders. We have a slight feeling that it might worsen the situation, but 25 feet of range means more time for you to run to safety. Yet, firing darts will always be fun, especially if your enemy is also equipped with an iLaunch. So, are you interested in a battle? Head here if you are looking forward to playing with the $79.99 iLaunch Rocket Launcher.

The Google HTC Nexus One has sold 135,000 units directly from Google since the phone was first launched. During this time period, Verizon sold 1.05 million Android phones while Apple continues to keep pace in the market by selling 1 million units of their original iPhone.
The results of the smartphone sales race are in. Running the numbers and looking at the charts with Nexus One’s sales figures, things do look a little “slow” off the start for Google. But CEO Eric Schmidt’s reports back in February show otherwise.

The Google HTC Nexus One has sold 135,000 units directly from Google since the phone was first launched. During this time period, Verizon sold 1.05 million Android phones while Apple continues to keep pace in the market by selling 1 million units of their original iPhone. The iPhone 3GS continued its market dominance by selling 1.6 million devices in just one week. Apple’s superstar has no reason to slow down and with a new revamped iPhone 4G on the horizon for its loyal customers, one can only assume a continued bright future.

A mobile analytics firm Flurry, studied the mobile market trends and sales data. Peter Farago, vice-president of marketing for Flurry had this to say about Google’s sales figures “The comparison is interesting because the iPhone and Nexus One each represent Apple and Google’s first fully branded handsets.”

Could the sluggish sales figures be attributed to Google’s poor customer support for the Nexus One? That maybe one reason. Or the Nexus One having network problems, is another factor as well. Its a widely stated fact, the phone has been unable to connect to T-mobile’s 3G network from time to time. The real nail in the Nexus One’s coffin is the odd complaint or so about the Touch Screen. Another thing to consider is the Nexus One’s high price, although it is “unlocked” and free for you to take to any carrier that will support it, perhaps those locked discount packages on multiple-year terms are really what makes phones sell fast. T-Mobile is the only company with a plan at the moment for the Nexus One phone on Google’s website, however Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and Rogers Wireless are on the horizon to take on the smartphone. The Motorola Droid on the other hand has faired better against the iPhone thus, far.

The psychology behind the consumer perception of a smart phone device is interesting and has changed. A smart phone lets you use business applications and browse the internet. Most consumers at one time did not understand that smart phones like the iPhone were more than a phone, almost equal to a desktop PC. You can flinch at that analogy because the brand name Mac was not used.

Verizon’s Android has been a star performer because it had a heavily funded advertising campaign behind it. If Google had not sold it’s Nexus phone directly through it’s online store there was a good chance it would have done better in the ratings.

Google has declined to provide any feedback on the Flurry figures and has refused to release any sales data for the Nexus One.

The Primo, a portable, rechargeable battery for your iPhone & iPod is only about the size of your thumb and is an astonishing 800mAh capacity battery. This provides roughly 3 hours of talk time on your iPhone or 36 hours of music on an iPod.

The design of the Primo is very sleek. There are 3 small lights that indicate battery level and charge status on the front and a mini-USB port on the back. The dock connector is on the top, when connected there is a space which would allow a protective case to remain on your device when using the Primo. The Primo is Apple certified and is compatible with the iPhone, 3G & 3GS, iPod, iPod Classic, Touch, Touch 2G and all versions of the Nano.

PhoneSuit’s Primo is using high quality lithium-ion power cells and are good for 500+ full charges. The Primo comes with a standard USB cable for recharging that plugs into any USB 1.1 or 2.0 compatible outlets.

An extra bonus that the Primo gives us is a better grip and increased sound when in landscape mode. Because the Primo extends your grip on the side where the speaker is, it allows you to fully hear the speakers that you (I) usually cover up with your hand when gripping an iPhone or iPod touch in landscape mode.

Available in white or black, with a pricetag of just $34.95 from the Primo store, it has made its way onto my have-to-have-it list.

Our friends at Speck have busted out a cornucopia of colorful cases destined for the iPhone 3G and 3GS at CES this year. The lineup includes the CandyShell, Fitted and SeeThru. These three new models will bring us over 30 different case colors and combinations to choose from.

“We’ve spent a lot of time ‘in the lab’ evolving our most popular products for 2010. Our all-new colors, fabrics and collaborations, both domestically and internationally, will give people more opportunities to make their iPhone reflect their personalities and tastes.” said Irene Baran, CEO of Speck.

Look for the new Speck cases in stores later this month and online at Speck’s website immediately.

Highlights of the Speck 2010 iPhone 3G/3GS case line up includes:

Seven all new color combinations of the award-winning CandyShell case, including: GuavaGoo Pink, Nightshade Purple, JujuJulep Green, SeaGlass Blue, DarkHeart Black, Moonsicle White and Indigo Blue. CandyShell is celebrating its one-year anniversary as the company’s bestselling case. CandyShell’s soft, colorful, rubberized interior helps keep the iPhone insulated from all of life’s bumps and drops, while the shiny and sleek outer hard shell protects it from scratches and lets your phone slip in and out of pockets with ease. These latest creations offer the chance to fall in love with your iPhone all over again for $34.95 MSRP.

Eight new, never-seen-before patterns of the fabric-wrapped Fitted case. Formed with genuine original fabrics over a protective hard shell, the Fitted brand is seeing its biggest expansion since its introduction. The case’s form-fitting, two-piece snap together design creates a personalized and tailored appearance that, combined with its interior soft-touch polycarbonate hard-shell lining, offers real protection from the knocks and scrapes of everyday activities. The Fitted feels soft and comfortable in-hand, while also offering custom-fit contours and openings that allow complete access to all controls and ports. Available in designs from classically hip houndstooth and plaid patterns in yellow, gray and pink, to bold argyles and abstract geometrics to even a special black-and-white headphones design that celebrates music. There’s a new Fitted design to suit even the most selective tastes and each is available for $29.95 MSRP.

ARTSPROJEKT x SPECK Fitted Limited Edition Cases, a unique collaboration announced late last year arrives at the show with new additional designs to be unveiled. At the show, four new exclusive ARTSPROJEKT x SPECK case designs from four new artists will be unveiled. Additionally, one additional design is being created at the show, live at the Speck booth, by Artist Jim Mahfood. In all, more than nine known and up-and-coming artists from around the world have participated in the program so far. Each case has a limited edition designation on the inside and includes a special “collectors” card describing the art and its creator.

A never-seen-before Fitted case design in tan and blue plaid is being unveiled and will make its exclusive debut in Apple retail stores and online in late January. The all-new design features original authentic tan fabric with blue plaid stripes over a protective hard shell, and features access to all iPhone ports, controls and sensors. The design will be available exclusively through Apple stores and online for $29.95 MSRP.

Made famous by Speck on their MacBook hard shells, the SeeThru Satin appeared last year to critical acclaim. The soft-touch SeeThru Satin hard shell case for iPhone 3G/3GS will appear later this month in six sleek and frosted new colors including: black, blue, red, purple, pink and green. The SeeThru Satin edition offers the same durable hard shell protection as Speck’s glossy and translucent SeeThru cases, but features a comfortable soft-touch outer finish that gives the iPhone a semi-translucent, frosted appearance while retaining a grippy edge for extra peace of mind. $29.95 MSRP.
