You might be wondering what is so super about LG’s “ new “Super Ultrabooks”. For starters, the 13.3” Xnote Z330 is the skinniest laptop around and the 14” Z430 isn’t far behind.

The Z330′s size is nothing sort of impressive: only .57-inches thick and weighing in at just 2.67 pounds. Dependent on the model, it is powered by an Intel i5 or i7 processor, 4GB RAM, and either a 128GB or 256GB SSD.

The Z430 will feature a i5 or i7, and instead carries 8GB of RAM and up to 550GB HDD.

LG’s new ultrabooks will be out sometime early this year, though there is no official word on the pricing.

While they are currently the smallest ultrabooks around, with CES 2012 just around the corner I wouldn’t be surprised if the record is beat (or at least matched) soon.

You’ve got to appreciate the styling on the Xnote Z1 series laptops from LG, and they certainly don’t disappoint with what they packed under the hood either. The white keyboard coupled with the black casing helps create a level of balance, don’t you think?

Anyways, this compact notebook comes with a 12.1-inch widescreen display, Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 (1.83GHz) processor, 100GB SATA HDD, ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 graphics, SRS WOW HD and SRS TruSurround TX sound, and a couple of 1.5W watt speakers.

They’ve kept this snow-happy package pretty darn light too at a mere 1.89 kg (about 4.16 pounds). Price, including VAT, is 1,840,000 KRW, or just under two grand of the green stuff.

As we do each week, Mobile Magazine has reported on dozens of new and interesting gadgets, vehicles and developments. Some of them were pretty silly, some were pretty cool, and some will be forgotten about by everyone but their makers by next week. Of all the tech we covered this week, here are the five that we have crowned our Top Tech of the Week:

Street legal hot rod

A crazy British dude named Andy Frost has spent about $190,000 souping up a beat up old 1972 Voxel Vectra. The car originally came with a heartless 4 cylinder piece of crap under the hood, but Frost replaced it with a 9.3L V8 that kicks out a completely ridiculous 2200 horsepower. It can reportedly do 0-60 in just one second (seriously) and it can do the quarter mile in 7.8 seconds. In comparison, the McLaren F1 takes 11.1 seconds.

LG XNote ultraportables

There are portable notebooks and then there are these notebooks. They are freaking tiny. LG announced two devices – the A1 and the C1 – and the C1 is the heavier of the two at just 2.8 pounds. Though it’s heavier, the C1 ports a nifty swiveling screen which opens up a whole world of fun possibilities. The machines have WiBro and HSDPA, so you have no excuse for not being connected wherever you are.

Toshiba TDP-FF1AU mobile projector

The name definitely needs some work, but the product is very cool. It’s a mobile, battery powered projector that fits in the palm of your hand. It uses an LED light source that is good for 10,000 hours, and it can project images in sizes ranging from 11 to 68 inches. The battery is only good for 2 hours of life, but there is really no good reason for you to show people anything coming out of a projector for longer than that. Not if you like the people, anyway.

DS-Xtreme

We’d never suggest that you should put anything illegal onto your Nintendo DS, because that would be wrong. If we were going to, though, then you would probably want to use the DS-Xtreme to do it. It’s a complete solution – you just slide the tiny device right into Slot 1 on your DS, and use an included USB cable to send whatever homebrew magic you want from your PC to your DS. It has 512MB of onboard memory.

Neoware m100

This notebook is interesting more for what it could lead to than for what it is. The m100 is a notebook without any internal memory. There is just enough on board to run the operating system. Everything else you want to store needs to be done on external devices or remote servers. It has very interesting applications for people like doctors and spies who can’t afford to have their data stolen. It’s a bit steep at $799 for a Windows XP model, but it could start a trend.

LG has launched a pair of new notebooks, the XNote A1 and C1. Both are super-slim and lightweight, but the C1 is slightly heavier at 2.8 pounds, no doubt because of the parts required to enable swiveling.

Both sport the latest in tech specs, including 1.2GHz Core Duo processors and 64MB GeForce 7300 Go graphics suites. You can connect to your heart’s content with WiBro, DMB, and HSDPA. The display is impressive as well, at 1366×768.

We know you want more details (like price and such), but we don’t have them at the moment.

The ultraportable notebooks appear to be Korea-only launches and come powered by the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Rounding out the features are ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics, 160HDD, up to 2 gigs of RAM, and glorious displays ranging from 12- to 17-inches in size (not so “ultraportable” at the high end of that spectrum). No word on pricing.

Now here’s what I think a true notebook computer should be. I’m not looking for an incredibly potent graphics engine, a humungous 19-inch screen, or a battery that only lasts a couple of hours. The new Xnote TX from LG may not be the most powerful laptop in the world, but it sports an ultra-slim design, and is as light as a feather at a mere 1.1 kg (2.4 pounds).

The processor comes in the way of a 1.3 GHz Pentium-M ULV 773, coupled with 1GB of DDR RAM. The hard drive isn’t huge at 60GB of storage space, and you won’t be able to enjoy many of the latest computer games in all their full resolution glory because the Xnote TX only has a 64MB Geforce Go 7300 graphics module.

The specs won’t wow you, nor will the 12.1-inch, 1280×800 pixel WXGA display, but the LG Xnote TX’s ultra-portability will. If you want a desktop replacement, look somewhere else. If you want a notebook that’s slim, easy to care around, and has enough processing power for most of your basic needs, then consider picking this puppy up… that is, when we find out its release date and price point.

If you’re looking to get your Core Duo on, LG has got another option for you to consider. The sleekly designed, ultra thin Xnote S1 comes in a black-and-white motif that just screams, “I’ve got style.” The most notable feature is, of course, the Intel Dual Core CPU (there’s no explicit mention of a clock speed), but that’s not to say the rest of the specs should be ignored.

With a 15.4 inch WSXGA (1680×1050) screen and excellent 5.1 surround sound, you have yourself a pretty powerful portable theatre on your lap. There’s even a dedicated “Direct Media Experience Button” that shoots you straight into an interface designed for DVD, CD, or MP3 playback. Gaming should be a lot of fun with the ATI Mobility Radeon X1K GPU for all your 3D graphical needs.

Not too much else is known at this time, so we’ll just have to keep our eyes and ears peeled for some more Korean press releases to find out when, where, and how much the LG Xnote S1 is going to be.
