fujitsu-dualie-20

Want to have the larger utility of a tablet but the portability of a smartphone? It looks like Fujitsu is trying something a little bit different with an unnamed cell phone – sporting not one, but two touchscreen displays. We’ve seen flipping phones like this before, but usually one of the slates is covered with a QWERTY keyboard or numeric keypad.

Toronto Maple Leafs coach uses iPad for coaching

leafs-ipad

When the NFL season kicked off a few weeks ago I had a brief discussion with my brother about how great it would be if the coaches on the sidelines used iPads (or some other tablet) rather than regular playbooks. It just seems to make so much sense, and it turns out that the Toronto Maple Leafs agree.

toshiba-is03-kddi

What’s that? You thought retina displays were restricted solely to the Apple family? While it’s unclear whether or not they can actually use the word “retina” in their product descriptions, Sharp has indeed come up with a phone that uses one. And it’s powered by Google Android to boot.

Jailbreak-proof T-Mobile G2 reverts back to stock automatically

g2-rootkit

I’m on the fence with jailbreaking. I’ve done it on many devices, but is it worth it in the end? Sure, you get access to apps you may not have had access to on your “factory sealed” model, but then you lose support and are in a constant fight for the latest jailbreak. If you own the T-Mobile G2 and have tried jailbreaking, you may have noticed it didn’t work all as planned.

sony-gtv

Sony has been around long enough that they may hang on to designs a bit longer than acceptable. For instance, this remote control QWERTY thing for Google TV. Its supposed to be released next week on October 12th, but I’d be more convinced if you told me it was released in 1985.

motorola-flipside-200

Motorola’s Flipside, an Android 2.1 smartphone skinned with MOTOBLUR is heading to AT&T. Confusingly due to Motorola’s naming conventions on mobile phones, the Flipside does not flip at all like we would expect it to. The Backflip flips its keyboard back and forth, while the Flipside offers a more traditional slideout keyboard.

passat-bluemotion-guiness-record

Hybrid? Pfft. Who needs a hybrid when a regular TDI Volkswagen can go over 1,500 miles between fill-ups? That’s exactly what the testing revealed on a Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion sedan. On the outside, it looks like any other regular Passat, but it does happen to be a diesel.
