Chrysler won't produce 2006 Crossfires |

  How are the sales of the Chrysler Crossfire going? Badly. So badly, in fact, that the company has taken the extreme step of deciding to skip the 2006 model year in the United States because they have too many remaining 2005 vehicles sitting on dealer’s lots. Chrysler will be paying the company that makes the Crossfire not to make as many vehicles as they were contracted to produce. There will apparently be a 2007 Crossfire in the American market. There was no word given on what changes might be seen in 2007 on the car, which is available as a coupe or a roadster, but you would think that something would have to change to avoid reliving this same problem again.
In attempt at collaboration between Daimler and Chrysler, the Crossfire was based on the previous generation Mercedes SLK-Class platform. American buyers have not responded to the car, perhaps largely because the price tag seems inflated given its Chrysler tag.
