Mission: Impossible III product placement goes to Ford, sorry GM |

  Product placement is nothing new. From television shows to the silver screen, every company is always out to get some not so subtle advertising into the mix. With the highly anticipated Mission: Impossible III set to hit theatres next month, it has recently been revealed that Ford and GM were neck and neck when the moviemakers were looking for a boxy SUV to use in the film. Well, the Ford-owned Land Rover LR3 ousted the GM-owned Hummer.
Of course, there is no guarantee that this will immediately translate into additional sales, if at all, but it certainly doesn't hurt when a big blockbuster like Mission Impossible is going to have your vehicle left right and center.
Many people may not even notice, still being too distracted by the recent news of Katie Holmes' new baby Suri (and the eerily silent delivery room), or too caught up in all the explosions and whatnot, but hey, Ford finally won at something. Good for them.
