Click to ZoomSome people like the glossy beauty of a new Apple MacBook, but industrial types need something a little tougher. For times like those, they may want to look at the Mitac E100 Rugged Tablet PC, a device that has just received a hearty congratulations and handshake from the suits of the FCC.

If you're looking for a rough and tumble experience, the Mitac E100 will serve you just fine. The idea is that you can operate it while holding it in one hand and touching its 8.4-inch TFT LCD with the other. Naturally, it's wrapped up in all sorts of weather-resistant material as well.

For features, you get integrated 802.11b/g WiFi, class 2 Bluetooth, Intel Stealy 800MHz processor, and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The hard drive is shock-mounted too. Rounding out the specs are a numeric keypad, cursor control keys on the front, RJ-45 LAN, two USB ports, PCMCIA, 3G SIM card slot, and the ability to add either a 3G WAN or GPS antenna.
