Samsung hits slim smartphone market with SGH-i320 |
|
Well, that didn't take long. Samsung just can't be satisfied with having a literal army of super skinny slider, flip, and candybar phones. They've already emulated the RAZR and its slim profile, and now it seems that the Korean electronics giant is ready to take on another segment. Samsung is set to release the SGH-i320, a super skinny smartphone that bears a startling resemblance to the Motorola Q.
The basic layout of the i320 is very much like the Q (as are other similar QWERTY smartphones, I suppose). Running on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphones, this offering from Samsung tips the scales at a mere 95 grams and is incredibly thin at just 11.5mm (coincidentally the same as the Q).
Key features found on the Samsung SGH-i320 include imbedded instant messaging, mobile mail, a 2.2-inch color LCD screen, Bluetooth, "high-quality" dual speakers, and a 1.3 megapixel picture taker. Sounds awfully familiar, doesn't it?
No word on a North American release, though parts of Europe should be getting their hands on it this month, with the rest of Europe and South East Asia following shortly afterwards.
