|
Pantech, the second biggest mobile handset maker in South Korea, has announced the launch of a new GSM handset with advanced camera and multimedia features. The new handset has been christened as the PG-8000 and it’s promising to catch the fancy of handset users who are tempted by advanced and sophisticated features.
The new phone resembles what in popular parlance is dubbed as the “dica look” or a digital camera. This sleek handset consists of a 2 megapixel camera and has a wide, horizontal LCD display. Pantech is projecting the PG-8000 as yet another proof of its innovative capabilities. According to Sung-Kyu Lee, President & CEO of Pantech Co., “Pantech is already a leader, in terms of combining innovative design concepts with increasingly advanced functionality. With the advent of the sleek PG-8000 handset, we are looking to offer this unique combination to the global market.”
Elaborating further on its precise functionality and the users groups for whom the new handset will be beneficial, Lee added, “The phone looks just like a digital camera and is likely to be extremely popular with users who enjoy photography. Along with the extensive music and entertainment applications, we feel that - in the PG-8000 - we are offering users a groundbreaking new multimedia experience. ”
Pantech claims that the new phone will be especially liked by music lovers, offering support for MP3, AAC, and AAC+ file playback. An FM tuner has also been attached to PG-8000 for radio listening. The PG-8000 will be available in mid September.
