Motorola Achieves Energy Star Status for Mobile Chargers |

 I guess Al Gore got to them. Motorola has just announced today that they are the first major cell phone manufacturer "to redesign all of its mobile phone and accessory chargers (external power supplies) to be ENERGY STAR-qualified." This way, their line of products are friendlier to the environment and are less likely to contribute to global climate change (I told you Al Gore was going to find his way into this).
The Energy Star standards are set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE). You might know the EPA from those ratings you see on your washer, dryer, and dishwasher. If all cell phone manufacturers followed Motorola's example and released Energy Star qualified charging adapters, "the energy saved could light 760,000 homes for a year." By proxy, it would also prevent over 1 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
So, not only is the RAZR sexy; it's environmentally conscious too.
