  If you're into Zen, plinky-plunky music, and getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, then the crew over at Bird-Electron may have something that is right up your alley. Constructed using bamboo, the EZ-TAKEGTF2 speakers do not require any source of electricity, working from the natural resonance of the bamboo instead.
For those of you who love all things Japanese, you'll be glad to hear that these ancient-looking speakers are made of "a special Japanese SuSu bamboo which is smoked and aged for close to 100 years." It's not all old stuff, though, because you can connect your MP3 player (or any other audio device) using the supplied stereo mini-plug.
For an all natural sound, you can look to Japanese exporter AudioCubes to pick up the Bird-Electron EZ-TAKEGTF2 portable bamboo speakers for just a touch under two Benjamins. A black version, the EZ-TAKE2, is also available for thirty bucks less.
