Creative Introduces the MuVo Micro MP3/WMA Player - Smaller Than Competing Players and Available in Eight Electrifying Colors

MuVo Micro Now Available in Stores at Industry-Leading Low Prices

Creative Technology Ltd., a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for PC users, today announced the MuVo Micro flash memory based MP3/WMA player. Smaller than competing players and now available at incredibly low prices, the MuVo Micro (model N200) comes in eight electrifying colors.

"It's hard to believe such great sound quality comes from such a small player. The MuVo Micro is so small that you forget you have it when it's in your pocket," said Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and CEO of Creative Technology Ltd. "With eight different colors and 256MB, 512MB and 1GB models to choose from at such great prices, there's a perfect MuVo for everyone."

At only 1.32" by 2.58" by .51" and weighing just over one ounce, the incredibly thin MuVo Micro measures approximately one third the thickness of the competing iRiver player and about half the thickness of Samsung's competitive offering. Even though it has an incredibly small size, the MuVo Micro enables line-in recording to create MP3 files directly from a CD, mini-disc or LP record, and up to 15 hours of high-quality digital voice recording. The MuVo Micro holds up to 500 skip-free songs on the 1GB model, and also plays and records FM radio. With the built-in microphone, it can also directly record voice notes, interviews or lectures.

With the announcement of the MuVo Micro, Creative introduces a line of beautiful flash memory-based MP3/WMA players with ultra-compact size and durable solid state construction. The MuVo Micro ideally complements the Zen Micro line of 5GB microdrive-based players which were introduced this week and are available in ten colors, including eight that match the MuVo Micro. Now music listeners can have a Creative MP3/WMA player for any activity, from exercising with a flash memory-based MuVo Micro to enjoying a 2500-song collection on a long trip or connecting at home to a stylish Creative I-Trigue speaker system. Users can choose one of each player in a favorite color or mix and match as desired.

By offering broad compatibility with popular download services supporting WMA and MP3 music, the MuVo Micro gives users a wide range of choices in acquiring digital music. Regardless of whether users purchase tracks online, transfer music from a PC, or import directly from any audio source with line-in encoding, they can enjoy continuous playback of more than 15 hours of pristine, skip-free music from a single AAA battery on any model of MuVo Micro. When users access music on the MuVo Micro, a blue, backlit LCD screen displays song title, play time, play mode, FM tuner and preset settings. Favorite songs and EQ settings, such as Pop and Rock, are effortlessly selected with one-finger using the side-mounted scroller button.

Because the MuVo Micro requires no software, users can quickly and easily drag and drop music, files and images to the player when it is connected to a PC USB 2.0 port. The MuVo Micro comes bundled with Creative MediaSource(TM), an easy to use music application that converts CD collections into a digital music library, organizes and manages digital music, and seamlessly transfers tracks to any of Creative's portable music players.

Pricing and availability

The 256MB MuVo Micro is now available at Circuit City and www.us.creative.com for only US$99.99, and the 512MB model is now available for only US$129.99. The MuVo Micro will also be available later this year in a 1GB model for the incredibly low price of only US$199.99. For active lifestyles, the sleek solid-state player comes with a sports armband and belt clip, as well as dynamic bass earphones for rich, crystal-clear high fidelity playback.
