Sony Japan unveils Wi-Fi multimedia Clie PEG-VZ90 |

  Sony has plans to ship out one of their greatest looking Clié PDA designs to date. The Sony Clié PEG-VZ90 is more of an entertainment multimedia handheld, but runs on Palm OS 5.2.1 and contains Sony's Clié Organizer PIM applications.
The PEG-VZ90 has a brilliantly bright 3.8-inch OLED screen with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, embedded Wi-Fi and RFID modules, Sony’s 123MHz ARM-based CPU, 64MB of RAM, 128MB of Flash ROM and an expandable CompactFlash bay.
OLED technology allows the VZ90 to conserve the 1300mAh battery, when watching a film or using some type of application. The way it works is if a pixel is black, it is not turned on, thus saves much more energy. It should run for a minimum of four hours, to a maximum of 12 hours during MPEG4 and MPEG1 playback, all depending on screen brightness. It is rated to run for 42 hours playing ATRAC 3 or MP3 audio with the screen disabled.
Sony will ship the 10.9 x 8.7 x 2.3cm device weighing 270g next week in Japan, the price is set for ¥95,000, about $860 USD.
