First Look at the Archos Gmini 400 |

 Back in March we got our hands on the Archos GMini 220, a reasonably priced device for storing data and backing up digital images from your CF card and even playing back music. Unfortuantly the screen was only monochrome so playback of your photos was almost useless. This week, photos of the Archos GMini 400 were released to the public along with the general specifications.
The GMini 400 is very sleek looking, with an internal 1.8-inch 20GB harddrive it will stock most of your music collection, it will also play MPEG-4, AVI, XviD and DivX. This can be output to a TV or viewed on the 2.2-inch 220x176 colour LCD. It still only recognized JPG and BMP files, it would have been nice to see RAW support. A new optional 4 in 1 adapter will allow you to connect SM, SD, MMC and MS/MS Pro cards in addition to standard CompactFlash.
No date was set for the official release, but we will probably see it later this year for around $450 USD.
