Sony HDR-SR1 digital camcorder does hi-def, boasts 30GB HDD |

  In this day and age, you really do have to specify what you mean with "HD". Growing up, HD always referred to a hard drive, but nowadays, it can also be translated as high definition (be it audio or video). Sony has got itself a new compact digital camcorder that encompasses both meanings of HD, packing in a 30 gigabyte hard drive to go with its hi-def video recording capabilities. Being showcased at CEATEC 2006, the CMOS-sensing HDR-SR1 features a swing-out LCD, Vario-Sonnar optics, and a 4 megapixel camera for stills. No word on pricing for this latest addition to the Handycam line.
