Sharp Reveals M4000 WideNote with Advanced Power Management |

  Sharp has just introduced their lightest and brightest wide-screen notebook for the US market today, the Sharp M 4000 WideNote. They are featuring the Intel Pentium M Processor 740 (1.73 GHz with 2MB of Level 2 cache) in the WideNote, it also sports a 13.3-inch WXGA wide-screen LCD that they say offers brightness and clarity of a desktop monitor (300 nits).
The 3.7 pounder is offering around 6 hours of battery life, a built-in optical drive (CD-RW/DVD-ROM), Secure Digital (SD) memory card support, a Type II PC Card slot (PCMCIA) and 2 USB 2.0 connections, as well as a V.92 modem and an Ethernet jack. Additionally, the M4000 is equipped with built in stereo speakers, a headphone jack, and a 15-pin external video VGA output jack.
Sharp will ship it for US $1,799.99 later this month with Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, an 80 GB hard drive, and application software including Norton AntiVirus, Intervideo Win DVD player with sharp-fxT, and Drag’n Drop CD+DVD creation software.
