HP today announced that they will be using ATI’s Radeon Xpress 200M chip in their new line of Notebooks. Both the HP Pavilion zv6000 and the Compaq Presario R4000 notebooks will sport the new chipset.
The 200M platform uses ATI’s HyperMemory technology designed specifically for DirectX 9 and utilizes the bandwidth of PCI Express.
Both of laptops feature AMD processors; the zv6000 uses a Sempron, the R4000 uses the Athlon 64 bit processor. Each laptop features a 15.4-inch widescreen display, built-in stereo speakers, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and an S-Video (TV-Out) port. Select models include an integrated 6-in-1 media card reader and an ExpressCard 54/34 card slot for use of next-generation PC Card expansion products.
The new laptops are already available from HP's shopping site. Each unit is fully customizable so prices will vary depending how much you want to shell out.
