 Small and light. That's exactly how I like my notebooks, so long as they have relatively user-friendly keyboards and displays. It also helps if you have an adequate battery life, because there's no sense in having a small laptop that only lasts an hour.
Toshiba is coming to the rescue for mobile professionals, because the newly revealed Toshiba Portege R600 not only tips the scales at a mere 2.4 pounds, but it also comes equipped with a hefty nine hours of battery life. That's mighty impressive, assuming that you can actually achieve that kind of benchmark.
Key features on this notebook include a DVD Super-Multi drive, 1GB of RAM built into the system board, an additional 1GB in the open slot, a 16GB had drive, and a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor. Price for this configuration is $2,399 (Canadian).
Alternatively, you can bump it up to $3,299 to get a 1.4GHz processor, 128GB SSD, and only 1GB of RAM.
