HP 2133 Mini-Note PC Launches at $499 |

  Competing directly against the upcoming Asus Eee PC 900 is this quaint little offering from the folks at HP. The HP 2133 is a mini notebook PC that is meant to work well with students both in the classroom and at home, but I don't see why non-students can't get in on the portable computing action as well. Designed to be compact, sleek, and lightweight, the HP 2133 boasts an anodized aluminum shell for ruggedness.
In terms of core features, this compact subnotebook comes equipped with a 8.9-inch WXGA scratch-resistant display, integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, all sorts of security and multimedia capabilities, and a clear coating over the Durakeys to protect the printed characters.
The HP 2133 mini-notebook PC is seemingly available now for an asking price of $499, which so happens to be the same price as the 8.9-inch Asus Eee PC 900. Hmmph, imagine that.
