i-mate turns to TechFaith for K-JAR Pocket PC phone |

  HTC seems quite content with serving up new smartphones under their own banner. i-mate must have taken offense, because they've turned their attention over to TechFaith of China for their latest creation. The spiritual successor to the JASJAR, the K-JAR boasts a fancy schmancy 2.8-inch QVGA display that flips and pivots to provide the best possible viewing angle. If they blew up the size a few notches, you'd almost be able to pass this Windows Mobile-powered handset off as a micro laptop a la the Flybook V33i, especially considering the QWERTY keyboard.
Powered by a TI OMAP750 processor, 128MB ROM, and 64MB of RAM, the i-mate K-JAR packs in Bluetooth and WiFi, but there doesn't appear to be any 3G radios included in the package. Keep your eyes peeled for more as it develops.
