Worried about broadcasting your portable hard drive contents to the world? Check out Torpark, a free download that encrypts your Internet connection courtesy of a USB Flash drive.
The Windows-only software allows you to create a secure connection from your laptop to an exit computer on the main company's network, encrypting your signal for none to see. One other prime benefit is that because you are surfing anonymously, you can bypass your company's or school's firewall, should you wish to visit a site that for some reason isn't allowed under those firewall protocols.
Tor, the main company, insists that Torpark comes with no offensive bells and whistles like adware or spyware.
You can get it here.
