RFID system tracks your stallions |

  Sure, the sport of kings isn’t as popular nowadays, but horse enthusiasts are just as passionate as ever. A horse is an incredibly expensive investment, and so, bioWatch, in a partnership with Unique Micro Design, has come up with an innovative solution that helps you keep track of all your stallions. The a.Ware eMitt is designed to track and report on ISO 11784 microchip-implanted horses. This wearable RFID scanner looks like a grooming mitt, and has been shown to be much less startling to horses than traditional tracking devices. All the data is easily transferred to a PC or PDA using a Bluetooth connection, avoiding tiresome manual data entry. The a.Ware software can be customized for veterinarians, owners, trainers and racing officials, and is even being developed for other applications (think daycare).
Expect the eMitt to be available sometime next month for under $1000, plus the cost of software.
