Click to ZoomXiMeta Technology, Inc., an information storage solution company, announced the first network direct attached storage device, NetDisk. At Networld + Interop, XiMeta Technology will showcase the first two NetDisk products--- NetDisk Portable and NetDisk Removable. The company has plans to introduce a family of NetDisk products this year.

XiMeta Technology, Inc. is focused on the growing trend toward networked information storage, in which storage systems are linked to personal computers in a network environment. "Using XiMeta's patented chip and software system, XiMeta will bring to market the first network direct attached storage (NDAS). The NetDisk products provide the performance, reliability and high data availability for the most demanding storage and data delivery applications," said Edward Park, President of XiMeta Technology, Inc.

With NetDisk you can plug directly into any Ethernet or USB 2.0 port, and immediately store or backup data. NetDisk is automatically available to one or more end-users or work groups. NetDisk is ideal for the average consumer, small and medium size businesses. It is a reliable, cost effective and efficient storage system. And the installation is easy, requiring no technical knowledge of networks or storage.

Currently the NetDisk series comes in two models--NetDisk Portable and NetDisk Removable. Both will be general availability in June, 2003. The suggested retail price of the NetDisk Portable is $269 for 80 GB, $319 for 120 GB, and $399 for 160GB. The NetDisk Removable is priced at $599 for 40 GB.
