Check out how you can get the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 for just $105 (well sort of) with no contract.

The post T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 For $105 appeared first on Mobile Magazine.

Those who have been trying to get your hands on the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 via a great deal but worried about the “out of stock” signs everywhere, should try this new way to get the handset for the lowest price ever. Now, the device can be yours for a very low price of $105 (well, sort of). All you have to do is follow the steps written below.

Go to a local Microsoft Store to purchase the 521 for $149. At the store, talk to a representative and come to a deal of a price tag of $129.88, the handset’s price at Walmart. Then go to “Bing it on Challenge” and compare Google and Bing in a blind test, for which you will be awarded a $25 gift card. And if you use that card, the device’s price has come down to $104.88.

The Lumia 521 is coming with a 4-inch screen, a 5 megapixel camera, HD video recording, 8GB storage (expandable up to 64GB), 512MB of RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor, and it supports 4G (but there’s no LTE). The device is one of the best budget phones available at the moment.

Thanks to WP Central for coming up with this great way to get the Lumia 521 on-the-cheap. Anyone try this method yet, did it work for you?

We have been seeing a lot of good deals from Barnes and Noble recently, and now an even better one. They are currently offering both the Nook HD and the HD+ at discount rates through Mother’s Day on May 12.

You can now get the 8GB Nook HD for $149 and the 16GB version costs $179 (a $50 discount). The 9-inch 16GB HD+ will be yours for $179 (down from $269) and the 32GB model for $209 (drop from $299). The devices are available online at Barnes & Noble bookstores and on Nook.com, and at retailers including Best Buy.

The Nook tablets have suddenly become more appealing with this price drop, and also the slates now support Google Play (so access to more than 700,000 apps and games. That’s a big advantage over the Amazon Kindle Fire devices. At Amazon, the entry-level Kindle Fire has a price tag of $159, the 16GB Fire HD costs $199 and the 32GB 8.9-inch Fire HD tablet is available for $299.

As for other rivals, the Google Nexus 7 starts at $199 and Nexus 10 retails from $399. The Mac maker’s iPad mini starts at $329. Bottom-line, for the hardware, the Nook HD and HD+ are nothing less than a steal at their reduced pricing. What do you think, are you interested?

The Home Shopping Network started offering the Nokia Lumia 521 on T-Mobile last week and it’s currently being listed as sold out, although they resupplied the stock once. That’s not surprising as their $149.95 deal certainly makes the Windows Phone 8 handset one of the best budget phones out there. But Walmart has come out with an even sweeter deal.

The 521 is available on the Walmart website with a price tag of $129.88 without contract. But this deal does not seem to involve any free accessories, such as the car charger and screen protector available from HSN. But, unsurprisingly, the device is out of stock almost immediately, although it is available in some of its stores.

Just to remind you, the 4-inch 521 features a 5MP cam, HD video recording, 8GB storage (expandable up to 64GB), 512MB RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor, and it supports 4G (but no LTE).

Those are quite decent specs for the very low price. If you are planning to switch to Windows Phone over a more established iOS or Android, then this is the deal for you. But we are not sure when Walmart will have the handset back in stock again. We will keep you updated, so stay tuned to Mobilemag.

If waiting for great deals on gadgets is the way you roll and if you are fond of doing a lot of shopping at Walmart, then you will be glad to hear about this new deal. They are offering a $70 e-gift card when you get a Nook HD+ tablet from Barnes & Noble.

Both the 16GB and 32GB models, which cost $269 and $299 respectively, are available. So if you are someone who frequently shops at Walmart, then the offer is giving you a chance to truly pay $199 or $229 for an impressive 8.9-inch tablet with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (when you factor in the $70 card). Indeed it’s a great deal especially when we think about the 8-inch, lower-resolution iPad Mini starting at $329.

So, are you interested in the deal? It’s a great deal and a great tablet. If you are still not moved, maybe you probably went for the earlier deal. And certainly there is the possibility that all these Nook-related deals are pointing towards the arrival of new devices from Barnes & Noble. We will let you know when something new comes up. In the meantime, you can check out the Walmart product page here if you want to get in on the deal.

The Sprint-owned MVNO is offering $100 in unlimited-plan credit to customers willing to switch their phone number from T-Mobile to Virgin Mobile.

As you can see below, the numbers are certainly attractive. If you make a switch before May 31st you will save a total of $334 in two years and that includes the $100 credit. There is a $55 per month plan for unlimited data (3G speed after 2.5GB, while T-Mobile offers 2G after that limit), messaging and talk service.

That plan costs $5 less than what T-Mobile is currently asking for its monthly package, but don’t forget the speed difference between Virgin Mobile’s EV-DO / WiMAX service and T-Mobile’s speedier HSPA+ / LTE.

Check out the creepy ad below, completely if possible, and tell us what you think about it. And are you planning to make that switch?

There are all kinds of wonderfully geek products at ThinkGeek, from NES-themed pillow sets to lightsaber-themed umbrellas. If you’ve been eyeing some gear at ThinkGeek, now might be a good time to buy, because they’re offering both free shipping and a free shirt with your order.

There is a catch, of course, but it’s all quite par for the online shopping course. To take advantage of free shipping with ThinkGeek, you’ll need to place a minimum order of $25. If you do that and enter FIREFLOWER in the coupon code area, then you’ll get free shipping to the contiguous United States. They haven’t said when this offer is expiring aside from saying it’ll expire “soon.” You cannot stack coupons on top of this.

The other offer is the free t-shirt at ThinkGeek. To get the free Legend of Penny t-shirt, you’ll need to place a minimum order of $40. That’s really not that much more than the $25 you’ll already be spending to get the free shipping, so you might as well do it. And yes, this will still qualify for the free shipping. You just have to enter the same FIREFLOWER promo code. Just bear in mind that the Legend of Penny shirt will only be offered “while supplies last.”

So, you’ve decided to upgrade your computer to Windows 8 and now you’re finding that you really want to have a touchscreen to take advantage of all those gestures. There are plenty of laptops and tablets out there with touchscreens, but what about your desktop? Thankfully, there are touchscreen monitors too and they can be quite reasonably priced.

One such example is the Viewsonic TD2420 24-inch monitor. This LED monitor is fully multi-touch compatible, so you’ll be able to do all of those Windows 8 things that you want to do. Along with the interactive stylus, the TD2420 is said to be great “as a POS device, information kiosk, or in hospital and classroom environments.”

Naturally, the TD2420 has a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution. In addition to the screen itself, it also comes with a pair of integrated 2W speakers with SRS premium sound. Input options include HDMI, VGA and DVI, and then there’s the VESA mount on the back if you want to put this on the wall.

Regular price is $552.00, but the ViewSonic TD2420 is on sale for $367.40 through Amazon, representing a savings of nearly $200.

It’s not very often that you find substantial savings on MacBooks, so it’s always pretty noteworthy when you do. Case in point is this 13.3″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display. It just so happens to be on sale for a pretty substantial $499 off. That brings the price down to $1,419.99.

There are several SKUs and configurations of the MBP, so which version do you get for that price? This Retina MacBook Pro comes loaded with a dual core Intel Core i5 2.5GHz processor, an impressive 8GB of RAM, 256GB of flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 4000. This is certainly one of the higher spec’d models. You also get the usual things like Bluetooth 4.0, 720p FaceTime camera, USB 3.0, Thunderbolt, and a 74Wh lithium-polymer battery good for 7 hours of computing. And yes, the 13.3-inch screen is a Retina Display, boasting a resolution of 2560 x 1600. That’s better than your 1080p HDTV on a much smaller screen.

You can buy it now from MacMall.com. If that particular configuration doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can choose to customize the MacBook Pro from that same page, picking a faster processor and more flash storage, as well as adding Parallels, Office, a USB SuperDrive and more.

I don’t remember the exact statistic at the moment, but I remember hearing how an increasing number of people are abandoning their traditional cable TV subscriptions and opting for online streaming and on-demand services instead. If you want easy access to Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and other similar entertainment on your HDTV, the Roku 2 XS is a great option. And it’s on sale too.

The Roku 2 XS 1080p Streaming Player gives you full support of streaming video up to–you guessed it–1080p full HD. You get access to over 600 channels with movies, TV shows, sports, music and more from sources like Hulu Plus, HBO GO and VUDU. Since it’s so universal, it should work on just about any television. There’s an accompanying app for Android and iOS too.

For the Internet connectivity, you’ll probably get the best experience with the provided wired support, but the Roku 2 XS also comes with built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi for wireless connections too. Beyond videos, it even has a “game-ready remote” to handy a full version of Angry Birds. And it’s remarkably tiny to boot.

The regular price is $99.99, but the Roku 2 XS is currently on sale for $79.00 with free super saver shipping. If you activate before January 7, you also get a bonus $5 Amazon Instant Video promo credit.
