webOS 2.0 coming ‘later this year’, HP Slate is for the enterprise

palm-rubinstein

In an interview with Fortune, HP’s Jon Rubinstein, former CEO of Palm, stated that webOS 2.0 is slated to be released “later this year.” That’s a good indication that we can look to expect a few different devices coming from the Palm and HP camp; since they are working on developing new hardware “aggressively.” I personally would love a Palmpad, or even a revamped Pre 2.

Samsung rejects Apple’s claims on the Omnia 2 antenna

Apple's test showing the Samsung Omnia II

Samsung today joined forces with RIM, Nokia and HTC by releasing their own statement towards Apple’s distraction of drawing the competition into their Antennagate problem. Apple’s tests showed the Samsung Omnia II being susceptible to signal loss via the “grip of death.” Samsung took their time in responding, perhaps because Apple uses a good number of memory chips from the company. So Samsung needed to be respectable and remain true to their manufacturing methods, but doing so without losing whiney customer.

htc-rim-nokia-200

Apple sure has created a big stir with the Antennagate conference. Thinking that a $100 million anechoic chamber announcement and a free case would increase customer confidence and appreciation, and satisfy their troubled minds. Guy makes iPhone into a DSLR, but why

iphonedslr-200

It must be a “mine is bigger than yours” thing, because this iPhone DSLR mount prototype is just way out to left field. Anyone with any photographic sense knows that the quality of glass you shoot with is tres-importante. But adding a lens on top of a lens seems on top of an iPhone is like a sick act of desperation, perhaps some type of shooters withdrawl?

Firefox Home for iPhone is not complete, but a good start

firefox-home-200

I’m pretty content with Mobile Safari, I don’t need a full-fledged browser for my smartphone and I highly doubt Apple will allow something to go above and beyond the current native offering. We’ve seen Fennec (FireFox Mobile) get released for Android, and Windows devices, so naturally Apple iOS should be next.

Boeing Phantom Eye hydrogen-powered unmanned bomber plane

Capable of flying at 65,000 feet for four days straight with its 150 foot wingspan and 450 pound payload, the Phantom Eye will surely keep any neighboring infidels in check. Powering the aircraft are dual 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engines that provide 150 horsepower each, although not stealthy, the cruising speed of approximately 150 knots is enough to conduct surveillance or just drop a few bombs on the “enemy.”
