Hori has just recently announced that it will be releasing a 3DS compatible steering wheel which is officially licensed by the big N. Amazon’s Japanese Site Andriasang has already listed the details without the photos but reports have it that the device will have a big L and R buttons to provide gamers with better control. A few press shots of the unit make the steering wheel look like a combination of the iPhone Helix grip and Wii Wheel of Nintendo. What do you think? Hori also stated that the steering wheel will be sold at the time when Mario Kart is released in the market. Hori steering wheel will be out in Japan and there is no news yet about it being released overseas. The device is pegged at $17 (¥1,280).

It’s been quite sometime now since Google launched their controversial Streetview feature. Anyone can access digital images of streets located all around the world. And now, the virtual world is going to increase in size by help of a group of Brazilian environmentalists who plan to create a 3D on-the-ground view of Tumbira—one of Earth’s most remote areas located at the center of the Brazilian Amazon rain forest. According to Google, the aims of this endeavor are to show the living conditions of the people in the area and to inform the public about the efforts done to protect the forest.

Tumbira has been visited by the Google team which was invited by the Foundation for Sustainable Development helping the residents within the Amazon reserves. Raquel Luna, FAS’ education coordinator said that, “One thing we always want people to know is that the Amazon is not only about trees and biodiversity…but it’s also about people, and communities here and sustainable living of these communities”.

Google has already mounted its cameras to capture pictures of the trails and around the jungle. Karin Tuxen-Bettman, a geostrategist for Google supervised the entire work and claims that in just a few more weeks, the images captured will be ready for Internet users to admire.

Once the images of Tumbira are stitched together, the product will be posted on Google Earth Outreach to provide ground-to-sky photographs of the spots which are isolated.

With its gorgeous polycarbonate shell and liquid-like display, you might think Nokia would want everyone to have the N9. With Meego on the way out, a recent video teases you with how the Finnish device is put together with amazing precision, yet you can’t have one. Each part is painstakingly crafted to achieve the desired polished and exact look. MeeGo is dead, and future high-end Nokia’s will run Windows Phone and use Microsoft’s services, will the N9 be re-released with new software? We hope so.

The two pulsating rings exude a cool futuristic design that brings an ultra-modern look to the watch.
Tokyoflash is a company well-known for adding a lot of useless innovation to time keeping. Rather than just telling you the time they want you to have to think about it — perhaps even compute it. The newest addition is the Tron-inspired piece which has the wrist-wrapping feature that looks like its from the future.

The Kisai Seven is the name, and it incorporates two pulsing LED rings in white or blue. It can also be customized through three animation pre-sets. The two pulsating rings exude a cool futuristic design that brings an ultra-modern look to the watch. Though Kinasi Seven appears somewhat unconventional, the two rings serve as the “arms” that point to the minutes and hour just like the normal watch so there is no need to worry about reading the time. The inner ring is the hour while the outer ring is the minute hand.

With its hard plastic case that is curved to fit the wrist, Kisai Seven also provides a strap section made of polyurethane with seamless butterfly clasp located at the back. You can adjust the strap by cutting it down until the size perfectly fits your wrist. Since Tokyoflash is also popular for its limited edition designs, you can be assured to have an original watch.

You can now place your order as the company holds its special two-day only price of only $99 because in the coming days, the price will increase to $139.

Being made available for pre-order on Amazon last month, ViewSonic’s ViewPad 7e is expected to ship at the end of October and will be pegged at around $200.

This android tablet features Android 2.3 Gingerbread, unfortunately not Honeycomb. It also measures just 7” and has a 1GHz ARM A8 processor which is perfect for web browsing and flash video. The price is very fair considering its specs; dual cameras, 4GB storage with microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, HDMI output and a “RiteTouch” 7 inch capacitive display. Considered to be an affordable low-end tablet, the ViewPad 7e does not have official support for the Android Market; but you can still access the Amazon’s Appstore and other pre-loaded apps such as TuneIn Radio, WildTangent games, Twitter and Kindle.

The company also improved the Gingerbread experience by adding ViewScene 3D interface to the tablet, making it able to deliver a home screen layout complete with holographic visual effects. This might be interpreted as an attempt to please users who wanted Honeycomb.

The tablet will be available in Latin America in November.

Rotundus Groundbot, a dual-camera security bot which provides a 3D video feed is a new easy to manipulate automated surveillance tool presently being tested by government. Its interface is kept free from clutter to make the operation less complicated and this bot will roll around the ground spying on everything around it.

Boasting its spherical design and clever name, the Rotundus Groundbot maintains simplicity without compromising on performance. Because of its huge circumference, the Groundbot can surpass any terrain with ease. It can move through sand, snow and mud without getting stuck because of its light weight of just 25 kilograms and its ability to roll on any surface. Testers say that this device appears friendly and unthreatening but at the same time, carries out functions very well.

There’s no mounted turret or any type of offensive weaponry on the Groundbut, but it is loaded with sensors and cameras which feed data back wirelessly to the operator. In terms of size, the Groundbot is 24-inches and can even float because it has low density and center of gravity.

Presently the Groundbot is being tested by Sweden’s Defense Force who seem to get to have all the fun.

Tablets are great for a number of reasons. You can easily browse the web, play feature rich games, listen to your favorite music and well, the uses are limitless. But when your kids start to borrow it to play kiddie games, you may hesitate. Your precious iPad 2 might fall victim to their just being a kid.

You can go the route of a LeapPAd or a VINCI Tab; or buy a kid-resistant tablet case for the iPad 2. Crayola Trace and Draw tablet aims to take on those opting for high-end gear protection. It not only keeps your iPad safe from children but it also makes the young ones view and use the tablet as if it is a drawing board or a coloring book.

The Trace and Draw allows kids to slide a piece of paper on top of their iPad’s screen to protect the device and at the same time, allows kids to play coloring games and draw through a free app. This case also has openings for headphone jacks and speakers and is made of polycarbonate plastic which makes it shatter-resistant. A durable static peel shield also helps the iPad screen to avoid getting fingerprints and smudges.

The tablet case comes with fifty sheets of pre-sized Trace and Draw paper aside from a black washable felt-tip marker. Thirty-five various animations and activities related to tracing, coloring and drawing are also included for free. You can grab the case at Griffin’s website for only $39.99.

Isn’t it disgusting to see dog poo left laying around the neighborhood? Aside from the fact that it doesn't look nice, it's also unhygienic. If you have a dog as a pet you'll know how crappy it is to pick up their crap. This is a daily thing too, if you don't clean up your pet’s mess you will end up facing some complaints and well, its just bad karma.

Isn’t it disgusting to see dog poo left laying around the neighborhood? Aside from the fact that it doesn’t look nice, it’s also unhygienic. If you have a dog as a pet you’ll know how crappy it is to pick up their crap. This is a daily thing too, if you don’t clean up your pet’s mess you will end up facing some complaints and well, its just bad karma.

There are some recent efforts being made to the cleaning and disposal function of pet feces. Dog waste disposal bags have existed for years, and most tend to just sit in land fills. Other systems can turn poop into fertilizers, but a new machine is on the horizon. The Paulee CleanTech, an Israel-based company envisions a device which can incinerate that poop on the spot. They’re calling it AshPoopie, and the one-handed contraption aims to turn dog feces into a 100% sterile pile of ash right on the spot.

This product will resemble a one-handed, no bending pet waste scooper and will feature a retractable handle. Being portable with a built-in decomposition chamber, you’ll never have to pickup feces again. Chemicals inside the cartridge will turn the poop into sterile and odorless ashes within only a few seconds. What this chemical is, if it’s environmentally friendly, or has hazardous effects to humans is still unknown.

Regardless, the creators of AshPoopieAshPoopie are expecting to be vaporizing crap in the first quarter of 2012.

It has been <del datetime="2011-10-18T00:28:27+00:00">around fifteen</del> 18 years since Apple ventured into the handheld electronics world. They kicked it off with devices like the Newton Message Pad and now we have the advanced iPhone 4 with iOS 5. You can do almost anything on your smartphone these days and the advent of smartphones like Android devices and iPhone iterations, and most recently tablets have spelled the demise of the PDA.

Initially developed outside Apple, Siri became an outstanding feature for iOS 5 on the iPhone 4S. Siri can be described as the personal digital assistant to the iPhone 4S. The original Siri app worked fine with the iPhone 4 but the lack of apps supporting are Apple’s way to differentiate iPhone 4 from iPhone 4S aside from a hardware bump.

The app is more than just an entertainment feature or simple voice control support. Siri considers the voice as a necessary factor in achieveing a rich multi-input digital experience for users. With its amazing speech recognition accuracy, Siri has become widely popular. iPhone 4 users also want to gain access to Siri, but at present, this only remains conceptual.

Efforts done by developer Steven Troughton-Smith and the people at 9to5 Mac can pave the way to have Siri on iPhone 4. It may not be a simple install however, iPhone 4 owners trying to get Siri will need to bypass the company’s app install authorization.

The iPhone 4 does not possess the dual core CPU of its successor but the port of the voice assistant was done with the use of the 4S Siri and Springboard files. The result, although not perfect, a Siri port that can recognize spoken commands. There’s still a missing driver so we don’t have the means to gauge the speed of Siri on iPhone 4. The question now depends on if Apple is blocking Siri on iPhone 4 at the server level by checking the hardware model. Troughton-Smith has already improved the performance of the app on iPhone 4 though and Apple’s servers remain inaccessible. At this point if Siri can run on iPhone 4 hardware then really the only reason Apple could be witholding it from owners of this hardware is to force a feature upgrade. You want Siri, get an iPhone 4s.
