The Microsoft Surface hasn’t exactly been flying off the shelves, but that doesn’t mean that Windows RT is going to lose any support. In fact, there’s word that Nokia is working on a new tablet powered by Windows RT and this new device will be making its debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress.

Dell Originally Wanted Microsoft to Drop Windows Name from Windows RT

There has been a little confusion by some consumers about the difference between the ARM-only Windows RT and the x86-only Windows 8. This is exactly why Dell’s Vice-chairman, Jeffrey Clarke said the company originally tried to get Microsoft Steve Ballmer to rename the Windows RT OS.

Microsoft Will Support Windows RT on Surface for 4+ Years

Microsoft’s Surface RT tablet was just released recently. But that didn’t stop Microsoft from detailing it’s support plan for the next 4 years. In short, Microsoft is boasting that if you buy a Surface RT tablet, you will be eligible to get software and firmware updates until at least April of 2017.
