When the iPad first landed it created a reaction, not only for those who intended to use it, but for every manufacturer that makes portable computer devices. And with that said, the battle began.

Panasonic announces first 3D video consumer camcorder arriving in October for $1400

Panasonic has unveiled the world’s first consumer 3D video camcorder, the HDC-SDT750. Recording works by using a 3D mode which is enabled by simply snapping on a 3D conversion lens designed to fit exactly to the camcorder. It records a split image, so you won’t be getting full 1080p 3D, but more like 960 x 1080. That’s pretty good for the first of its kind.

Cisco unveils Cius Android business tablet with front-facing camera

A new business focused Android tablet has been announced by Cisco today, they call it the Cius ("see us"). Loaded with every feature we had hoped the iPad would have, the Cius comes with HD video streaming, real-time video communications thanks to a front-facing camera, tricked out 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G/4G data and Bluetooth 3.0 so you can pretty much stay connected anytime, anywhere. A 7-inch high-resolution LCD using contact-based touch targets, something called the HD Soundstation, which without a doubt is the best looking docking bay I've ever seen.

Review: Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 mobile scanner

With a small but steadily growing population of the computing force being Mac users, it’s nice to see Fujitsu thinking of us by offering a serious mobile scanning hardware solution. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 is just under $300, and will appeal not only by Mac users, but any mobile professional serious about document processing. The S1300 is silver and gray. It folds down nicely in to a compact 11.18 x 3.90 x 3.03 inches and weighs in at 3.08 lbs. It’s a little bit thick at 3.03-inches, but will fit in to larger laptop bags, perhaps even a large briefcase. I think it could have been a bit thinner, but Fujitsu did a good job of keeping it looking sleek.

The Canon Imageformula P-150 is the latest mobile scanner from Canon. It sells for under $300 online, and can scan at duplex up to 20 sheets per sitting. A perfect portable scanning companion for your mobile office. Definitely compact in size, light-weight and measuring only 11 x 3.7 x 1.6-inches, the P-150 is thin enough to slip in your laptop bag or rucksack.
