It used to be that HTC was the clear-cut leader in the smartphone arena, but many other companies are competing for the crown these days. HTC isn’t the only Android game in town and Samsung has really carved a nice-sized market share for itself with the Galaxy S line. Even more so as of recent with the introduction of the Google Nexus S. The Samsung Galaxy S is offered as the AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant, Verizon Fascinate, Sprint Epic 4G and Rogers Captivate.

Motorola DROID X smartphone official

The teaser trailer that we saw yesterday which some believed seemed to reveal more about the DROID X than we originally first saw. Well, some of those “leaks” were correct, and others were not. Verizon Wireless and Motorola hosted a big event earlier today to officially unveil the DROID X and it looks to be quite the hot smartphone. Instead of that “leaked” July 2 launch date, we are looking at a July 15 release for this device. They also revealed the par-for-the-course $199 price point when paired with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate.

Samsung’s Galaxy S Android smartphone launched: plays HD 720p

It looks like the news is coming out fast and furious from CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas. Contending to be one of the hottest new smartphones to hit the limelight – the Samsung Galaxy S is a “super” updated version of the Samsung Galaxy that has already been floating around the market. Samsung is pretty proud of this little phone, especially since there isn’t much that is small about it. For starters, you get a large four-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, which will rock for web and video since the DivX certification its garnered for HD video playback at 720p resolution.
