Over at McGill University, a team of surgeons have successfully removed a patient's prostate without the use of human hands. Addonics’ five drive redundant RAID enclosure is ultra-compact, uses 2.5″ drives

Most RAID boxes out there use 3.5-inch drives, the 2.5-inch drive models which are typically used in notebooks, netbooks and portable harddrives don’t get used beyond that. There are some dual 2.5-inch RAID enclosures out there, but none can claim to the five drive capacity that Addonics’ latest Compact RAID enclosure supports

Nokia N8 hands-on, loads of pics at IFA

Its anodized aluminum case in silver-white, gray, orange, blue and, my favorite, a kind of retro sci-fi green, is a treat to hold and behold, but where you really find the wow is on the entertainment side of things

Sony Ericsson Cedar feature phone gets a little green

The newly revealed Sony Ericsson Cedar cell phone doesn't look like much, but this affordable handset is actually quite elegant in its presentation. It's not a smartphone, but appears to offer integrated Facebook and Twitter access. That's a good start. You may also notice beyond the elegant design, that the Cedar makes uses of recycled plastics, offers a lower power charger, comes with an e-manual, and is wrapped up in compact packaging.

A Guide to Shopping for Electronics in Taipei

Since Taiwan is home to so many computer and electronics companies, you would assume that it could be a shopping Mecca for all the gadget geeks of the world. While I wouldn't quite put it on par with the legendary Akihabara region in Tokyo, Taipei is no slouch when it comes to buying some cutting edge technology.

Hands on: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android smartphone

I was able to enjoy some brief hands-on time with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 during CES in January. At first glance, it's quite clear that the X10 is in direct competition with devices like the Apple iPhone 3GS, it's big touchscreen display and lack of physical keyboard screams "touch me." While it does make use of a rather vanilla build of Google Android (1.6) for its core operating system, it's equipped with two additional user interface features: Mediascape and Timescape. The former is used to manage your pictures, music, and so on, whereas the latter gathers up your social networking and messaging things.

With a total workforce in China numbering 800,000, Foxconn is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer; making devices for leading global electronics brands like Apple and the iPhone. Shenzhen police confirmed the death, and it's still under investigation as a possible suicide. Nine people have died this year in a series of "incidents" among workers, with two failed suicide attempts.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 available April 15th from Rogers

We had already heard that Rogers Wireless would have the Canadian exclusive on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, but we were left with little more than a "coming soon" when it came to a release date. That has now changed and you may be TimeScaping with the best of them very soon. Continuing with the Google Android revolution, Rogers has started to take preorders for the Xperia X10. This comes a short while after Best Buy jumped the gun by offering pre-orders on the phone as well.
