Technology today has centered itself on powerful features and portability. Over time, consumer electronics have found a way to minimize bulkiness without compromising performance. This is essentially true for handheld mobile phones and tablets. With this, vulnerability to damage seems likely for these items. Believe me, it’s heartbreaking to lose a certain gadget if it contains important files and you poured a lot of cash in it. If you want to get things done using a conservative tablet on the market, the Archos 101 Saphir might address your needs. Archos, a french pioneer brand for android tablets, have released a new model addressing accidental drops and performance. The archos 101 Saphir is a ruggedly designed tablet without spending a fortune. The tablet is claimed to be shockproof thanks to its rubber case that protects the tablet from drops as high as a little over three feet, and waterproof as it features an IP54 rating, so while it is mostly protected from dust, the tablet can only handle splashes of water.

The 101 Saphir features a 10.1-inch, 1,280 x 800 resolution IPS display, with a 2-megapixel selfie camera above it and a 5MP sensor around back. A quad-core MT8163 MediaTek 1.3GHz chipset paired with a 1GB RAM and a 16GB storage with provision for a micro SD, this is a modest buy and you can certainly get things done with its 6,000 mAh battery life. This battery capacity can withstand 5 hours of video playback. The one thing that’s nice about this tablet is that it has added features such as a USB Type-C, two stereo speakers, and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. These are not typically found on low end tablets on the market. The target market for this device is really those who are quite rough in handling their items and who are quite conservative on spending. This can be a good gadget for kids too, serving its function while not being too concerned that it will break that easy.

The brand is planning to launch the device this coming June at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The price hasn’t been disclosed and we’re hoping it fits most of the market’s budget. These kinds of things are becoming essential to both young and old. We rely quite heavily on these gadgets nowadays for communication concerns, more so with informative things. Archos brand still belongs to the minority of brands that have penetrated the United States and these kinds of products are relied to be effective in delivering its performance as to uplift the name of the brand. Many brands may compete with the specifications offered by this brand, a consumer’s discretion will solely decide on the purchase. As long as this will not carry a fat price tag, i think this can thrive in the current market. Its target population is quite a majority, pertaining to those who use tablets for watching movies and surfing the internet. Let’s wish the brand a good luck!
