Samsung Partners With CNN to Ship the Gear S2 Preloaded with its News App

Recently we told you about the launch of Samsung’s new smartwatch, the Gear S2. The watch is quite distinct in terms of looks and is a highly premium device bearing an affordable price tag. Experts believe that the Gear S2 will be able to attract many buyers not just because of its monolithic design appeal but also its battery which Samsung claims can last for 2 or 3 days easily.

A piece of info on which we’ve just got our hands on is that CNN has partnered with Samsung so as to ship the Gear S2 and the newly launched Galaxy Tab 2 with their news app. The app has been highly customized for Samsung devices and will soon become available for download for the users of Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ too. The app will offer the viewers news videos directly from its network in HD. The users of Gear S2 will also be able to see breaking news headlines on the home screen of the watch which can later take you to the whole story in the app once you tap it.

This partnership, which was announced during the launch of Gear S2 at IFA in Berlin, will definitely help Samsung’s new wearable device to stand out in the market. The Gear S2 has a round display along with a rotating bezel which also acts as an input method. Although the world is pretty familiar with pre-loaded apps, however, CNN think otherwise as they think their HD quality videos will definitely entice many users.
