Interested in light painting? No? Well you will be after taking a look at the work done by British photographer Martin Kimbell, who uses long exposure techniques and LED lighting to create magnificent light tornadoes which give us the feeling that we are looking at another world.
25-year-old Kimbell wanders around quiet countryside areas in the UK to capture these images. He takes his photos in the night or during the twilight hours. For capturing the images, Kimbell hurls hoops which have been lined with tiny LEDs into the air and then uses extra long exposures. His work has been inspired by the creations of Arizona-based photographer Stu Jenks, who likes to make tornado-like images with light and fire.
