Wacom has unveiled their new high-end Cintiq Companion and Cintiq Companion Hybrid tablets for all the professional artists out there.
Both the tablets are coming equipped with a 13.3-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (700:1 contrast ratio and 16.7 million colors), an 8-megapixel back cam, 2MP front-facing shooter, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support for microSD cards, and you will also get ExpressKeys, Rocker Ring, customizable controls and multitouch gestures. There’s also an adjustable stand and things won’t be complete for an artist without the Pro Pen, which features 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The Cintiq Companion is powered by a third-gen Intel Core i-7 processor, and there’s 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU and SSD storage. You can either go for Windows 8 and 256GB of space for $1,999 or Windows 8 Pro with 512GB capacity for $2,499.
The Companion Hybrid runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and features a quad-core Tegra 4 processor, an NVIDIA GPU, 2GB of RAM and HDMI input. The tablet is available in 16GB and 32GB versions, with price tags of $1,499 and $1,599 respectively.
Both the tablets are now available for pre-order (here and here). The Cintiq Companion devices will be available in October, while the Cintiq Companion Hybrid models are coming in mid-September.
