Windows 8.1 On Its Way, Will Arrive October 18th

Not a big fan of Windows 8 in its current form? Or simply looking forward to additional features that are expected with Windows 8.1? Well you’ll be happy to know that the date for Windows 8.1 has now been set to October 18th.

For those that already have Windows 8, the update will be available as a free upgrade, which can be snagged via the Windows Store. As for finding Windows 8.1 in-store as an upgrade or pre-installed, no exact date – though you can expect sometime shortly after the 18th.

What can we expect with Windows 8.1? An improved lockscreen, the return on the start button (but not the classic bar), enhanced apps, a new version of IE and so much more.

What do you think of the Windows 8 family so far (WP8, Windows 8 and Windows RT) – excited to see how they evolve over the coming years, or not at all impressed? Share your thoughts below.
