Apple Back to School Promo: $100 or $50 AppStore Card for Certain Purchases

It seems like the summer just started yesterday, right? In reality, we are now looking at July – and that means it is time to start thinking about going back to school.

With that in mind, Apple has now launched its annual Back to School promotion for students in the United States and several other countries across the globe.

The sale runs from today (July 2nd) until September 6th and works at Apple retail stores and the Apple Online Store. For iPad and Mac purchases, the sale also applies to Authorized Apple Campus Stores.

Okay – so what does the sale offer? It’s pretty simple. You buy a Mac of any kind and you get an $100 Apple gift card. For iPhone and iPad? You get $50. Interestingly enough, the $50 promo only seems to apply to those who are first time iPad or iPhone buyers.

So how do you get in on the deal? Basically you need proof that you are a college student, or have been accepted into a college. Parents of a college student can also make the purchase and receive the gift card.

While the amounts aren’t huge, if you are were already planning on getting a new iDevice or Mac computer for college, it’s still a nice little bonus.
