Facebook Home is here, at least for a limited number of devices. The official list of supported devices is limited to the HTC One X, One X+, Samsung Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2. The good news is that unofficially, there is a way to get many other devices working with Facebook Home.
The geniuses over at XDA Developers have now created a mod that removes device-specific limiations allowing you to try Home on almost any handset. So what do you need to do to make it work?
Step 1: Uninstall Facebook and Facebook Messenger if you already have them. For those with Facebook pre-installed on your handset, you’ll need root access to manually remove it.
Step 2: Download the modified Facebook Home and, if you want, Facebook Messenger. Extract the .rar file.
Step 3: Install the officially Facebook app, then the Facebook Home Launcher, then the Facebook Messenger app.
Step 4: Enable Facebook Home under Facebook app settings. Reboot.
This should be all it takes to get Facebook Home up and running. For more information, head over to XDA.
