High Resolution Nexus 7 Update Coming in July?

nexus 7 update

It’s no secret that I have fallen out of love with the iPhone and am very much an Android phone user, but for tablets I still can’t get enough of the iPad Mini. It’s small, fast, has very little bezel and just outperforms anything else in its class, but perhaps not for long.

Google and Asus are preparing a new version of the Nexus 7 and are rumoured to be taking a few styling and feature cues from Apple’s tiny iOS tablet. The new Nexus 7, which could go on sale as early as July, is reported to offer a larger screen but with less bezel than the current Nexus tablet.

Further reports claim that a higher resolution display will be in place on the new Nexus 7 along with a faster processor and more RAM. I don’t know about you guy’s but if Google and Asus throw in a decent rear camera and Android Key Lime I’ll be sorely tempted to ditch the iPad Mini.

What do you think of the current Android tablets out there on the market? How to their compare to their rivals in the Windows and iOS world?

  1. If the price is right, and if the new version can still fit in my back pocket, I’d definitely consider buying one. My Galaxy Tab 7 is still a very capable tablet, but a faster processor and bigger viewable screen is definitely worth an upgrade.
