Google Discontinues Nexus 4 Bumper Accessory (Update: It’s Back)

While the LG Nexus 4 is now becoming a bit easier to get ahold of, its accessories aren’t. The Google Nexus 4 official bumper has sold rather briskly every time stock has come in, and now it looks like Google is discontinuing the accessory altogether.

The listing on Google Play for the bumper now shows the description, “Nexus 4 Bumper (Black) is no longer available for sale”. That could mean it is truly gone. It could mean they are revising it or even bringing it out in new/different colors, or really anything in between.

Jumping over to the Nexus 4 listing does indicate that the accessory isn’t mentioned at all on the page anymore though, so it is more likely gone for good. Considering the LG Nexus 4 has been around for a while now I can’t say it is terribly surprising, but there are probably still quite a few people out there that would have liked to get their hands on the bumper and now likely never will.

Update: At the time that the article was written, Nexus 4’s bumper accessory was showing up as “no longer available for sale”. Interestingly enough, heading to Google Play now shows that it is ‘back in stock’, at least in the United States. Has it returned to your region yet or is it still showing up as “no longer available for sale”?
