I think that they have a great plan. Now to make a mobile app that supports the new interface, and once they make profit, get some promo going, MySpace is back! If they are going to make a move, they have to move fast. Facebook is getting slowly thrown out for teens in favor of Instagram and Snapchat. If they move quick, they might fit themselves in the window...

You couldnt be more wrong. And here is why. Think about the group the New Myspace is chasing after- teens and tweens 13-21. Now lets take a 15 year old for example. When Myspace was at its peak in 2008 this kid was 10 years old without a social life, he has no real memory of the old Myspace, but is familiar with the brand and its importance. Now in 2013 he is on Facebook where his social life is intertwined with his parents, adult family members and everything else that makes up society, and he HATES IT!! . Myspace will now create a place for this group who are starving for their own identity and unique space online, a place for that group, where they can separate themselves from the last generation. The older generation abandoned Myspace for Facebook, deeming Myspace no longer cool or hip....and the new generation will embrace it and make it cool again en masse. Mark my words...Myspace is back. Its just like Microsoft vs. Apple.....Apple was dead until the Ipod resurrected the brand to a new generation.

Facebook is old and not much to do as far as creativity goes.
Music and Customization is where it's at with youth. If MySpace
allows the same updates and messaging/post as FB
then watch out FB stock holdings because your going down!
Did you really think Mark Z would rule forever?

Trent,

Myspace is dead. It's not coming back no matter hard they try to revive it.

Sorry to burst your bubble...

Definitely a keeper. Not too complex like Facebook and not too simple like Twitter. The aesthetics and availability of music are my winning factors also. Welcome back MS!
