Back in November ZTE announced the China-only Nubia brand. Despite this, the company has waited until today to launch the flagship phone for the new brand in Beijing.
As many companies are now concentrating on larger phablet style devices, it came as no surprise when ZTE announced the 5-inch Nubia Z5 at 2pm today along with a few other surprises.
The first surprise is that the Z5 offers a similar level of hardware specs found with the Oppo Find 5. Both the Find 5 and new Nubia Z5 boast 5-inch 1920 x 1080 HD displays, 1.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm CPU, 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel main camera.
However unlike the Oppo, the Nubia only comes in a 32GB version, measures in at just 7.5mm and boasts the thinnest screen bezels of any phone at just 2.67mm. Pricing for the Nubia Z5 is around $550, where as the recently announced Oppo Find 5 will cost slightly more at $570.
If all of this sounds great but you fancy a little more bling on you 5-incher, then you will be happy to know that a limited edition titanium Numbia Z5 will also go on sale but at much higher price of $1300.
