WHEN YOU AUTOMATICALLY TEXT OR TYPE SOMETHING THE SWYPE FEATURE WORKS. THERE IS NO NEED FOR AN ICON OR DOWNLOAD

actually the swype thing is just when you type. you can swipe your finger from letter to letter and it writes the word for you instead of you tapping on each letter individually

Weird. My HD updated automatically with no notice and no mention of the new features or how to access them. For the new camera "app", it's actually just an icon that comes up when you open Photos. There's a lens icon in the upper right corner, if you touch it the camera activates (with the ugliest shutter button ever). I do not see anything related to this new Swype thing -- no app, no icon, no auto on. I don't use Freetime (no kids), so I don't know if there was any notice of the new subscription service within the Freetime app, but there was nothing pushed to anyone not currently using Freetime. All in all, a strange rollout. Is this the way Amazon usually does upgrades?
