It is really frustrating. I was unable to get the phone and am wondering when will the phone be available to Canada again? Why is there such limited stock? A big company like Google could not anticipate demand based on their current sales? really? I will just pick up another phone now as I wanted to get the Nexus 4 as a Xmas presend. Google has definitely lost this customer.

I live in Canada and got a 16GB version on Dec.3, I got it within the hour it came out and the site did not crash or glitch on me. The only complaint I have is the I have to wait 7-8 weeks for shipping. I believe the phone sold out in about 4 hours.

I highly doubt that google is losing money on this phone. I mean, on the tear down of the iPhone 5, the manufacturing & bill of materials was around $200 for the 16gb model. So at the very least, Google is breaking even on that handset. My theory is that they don’t want to scare away other manufactures or give them the idea that they are going to be embracing anti-competitive practices by selling it at cut throat prices.

Silly comment, they can’t prepare for mass sales when they haven’t got a reputation for amazing hardware/software. It’s not like the iPhone where it’s had years to build up an great reputation.

I’m surprised I haven’t heard of someone being let go from google. I understand that it’s a great price but they are losing so many sales. By the time they are able to get it into people’s hands, it will be yesterday’s news. Not to mention the only case for it is a bumper? At least with iphone, cases are ready to be released on launch date. Google isn’t acting like one of the world’s largest companies right now. It just goes to show that they’re not poised to lead in this market.

I am from Nairobi Kenya, and everytime I check google play store i get the following rude message “Sorry! Devices on Google Play is not available in your country yet.
We’re working to bring devices to more countries as quickly as possible.
Please check back again soon.” its quite dissapointing
