As far as simplicity goes, I honestly believe that Windows Surface's tile-based interface is pretty easy to use--- but if your husband has used Windows on desktop systems he might find it a little confusing since it is such a departure from the old style. If he is a blank slate for Windows altogether, the Surface might be perfect. The Nexus 10 is really going to shine in price-compared-to-performance and in its larger app library.
