The fact that the Fire doesn't have support for real Google apps, like Google Play, doesn't help them much either. Really I don't know how Amazon Kindle Fire 2nd-gen could possibly one-up the Nexus 7, unless by some miracle they are able to cut costs enough to deliver a cost point lower than $199 and/or they are able to somehow improve the Fire UI to make it better than last gen. Even if they do all of that, it still won't have official Google apps, so that's the deal breaker, at least in my opinion. Could be wrong, of course, and I'm at least excited/curious to see what Amazon has up its shelves. Like I said in the article, I'm really excited for late-2012 and into 2013... the mobile war is heading into some uncharted territory and I'm curious how all of it will play out.
