SAR is generated by placing a cellphone on your skin. The iPhone 4 manual even says: "When using iPhone near your body for voice calls or for wireless data transmission over a cellular network, keep iPhone at least 15 mm (5/8 inch) away from the body, and only use carrying cases, belt clips, or holders that do not have metal parts and that maintain at least 15 mm (5/8 inch) separation between iPhone and the body."

Crappy negative article about what could be a really convenient feature for those who use their phones in taxi cabs and trains. The feature would almost certainly be user selectable on/off so why would anyone have a problem with it? The author is obviously out to demonize Blackberry which invented and started so many of the great things we now take for granted in smart phones.
