You can actually connect this to your computer using the micro usb to usb cable provided. You would them be prompted in the Novo 7 screen to allow it to function as a flash disk. Allow the connection and you can copy any movies into the tablet from your PC. Once you disconnect the usb cable from your computer, open the media player app and you should see the movie that you copied earlier. If you are watching movies on it, try using the supplied earphone as the speaker itself on this tablet seems to be very soft.

BTW, i don’t think Novo 7 Basic has GPS ….unless you are talking about some other tablet from China. But as long as they are running android, they would all function in similar manner.

How can I run movies on it? Do I need to have some on a microSD and then play using the Media player?

I got this tablet two days ago (from China) and it has GPS. Its construction is somewhat cheap, but it does the job. I find that some software in the App Store is not compatible. It did come with the beta version of ICS. I can’t wait for updates. :)

Thank you for a balanced comment. As for my prejudices, you could try my personal blog fineoils.blogspot.com, just search for “Ainol” posts there. Anything I’m up against in my article is this 2010′s “800×480″ screen resolution, that’s all. Otherwise, I believe this single-core machine that is technically worth no more than $60 can beat many current dual-cores in a wink, and on any HD movie rendering, any day. Gaming on that tablet is a blast, and I’m sorry not to mention it enough.
Please also don’t think anybody of big guys peddling their “high end products” are paying me to smother Chinese products. However, if they chose to do so, you won’t see me responding to you, right?

I agree. I owned both the advance version and basic version (though not the new Paladin). Both are great products (would call it perfect if not for the ommission of built in BT) for the price point. Handy to surf net and watch movies and some games. I think the saying don’t judge a book by its cover certainly hold true. I am not sure if the Alex actually hold this baby and play with it or simply does a review based on the spec sheet, i will not judge. But product review needs to be objective and not simply bashing it.

You call this product with a 800 x 480 TFT display recipe for failure? Try run a HD movie source and see if it makes a major difference (that you are willing to pay a premium for) with a higher resolution screen.

Alex, you should stick to reviewing high end product ….
