The Galaxy Nexus will be the first to run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS that comes with many long-awaited functionality. And guess what, you will be able to take screenshots by just holding down the power and volume down buttons, now that’s new to Android which typically required you to root your phone and install third party software. You will also be able to unlock your phone by flashing your smile with the new “face unlock” feature. The old notifications and multitasking system are still there, but they received a makeover allowing for quicker info and app management. Some of the new functionality in Ice Cream Sandwich is quite impressive.
The Galaxy Nexus spec sheet was leaked ahead of schedule, it has a massive 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, while coming in the typical 16GB and 32GB variants.
