Viewsonic, a Taiwanese company has finally revealed the Viewsonic ViewPas 10e, the most recent Android tablet in the company’s collection of affordable tablets.
Unlike other affordable tablets which have screens that have poorer quality, the ViewPad 10e boasts of its 9.7 inch IPS display which has a 1024 x 768 resolution. It also gives users the same pixel density as the iPad 2, and has 400nits of brightness.
A 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, 4GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM round out the specs at a more than adequate offering. On top of that, a micro SD card slot is located at the bottom of the tablet. Other features of the ViewPad include a mini HDMI, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Micro USB slot. Although it has no GPS, you can still use its Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity.
There is only one camera on this tablet, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel for Skype and video conferencing. The ViewPad is only 9.1 mm thick and weighs only 620 grams, making it very convenient to carry around. Inside the tablet is a 5400 mAh Li-Poly battery which powers up the device.
Of course, there are some disadvantages in using the ViewPad. It is not a Google certified device so you will not find the signs of the Gmail or the Android Market but there is the Kindle app to make up for it. The price is still unknown so we will have to wait until they announce one.

The ViewPad 10e does not just have impressive hardware specifications; Amazon Kindle is pre-installed providing immediate access to 700k+ books, magazines and papers, all displayed as they were meant to appear on the extra wide viewing angles an IPS panel brings. In addition ViewSonic includes a market place application which allows access to 000’s of additional applications and games.
