AppScribe today has announced at TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco the upcoming launch of their premium Android game subscription service for a $3.95 monthly subscription fee. Independent developers can have their apps and games listed on the service to market their free of trial versions and paid. Over 30 games in the system now and growing each week. I talk with CEO and Founder John Tipton who tells us about his new service that will be available later this month.
Although Apple is the biggest American phone company, that doesn’t automatically give them the seat for the most US smartphones sold. RIM has the number one place, followed by Google’s Android, and iPhone coming in third. According to NPD, a market research firm, Google’s Android operating system had a 28 percent market share in the first quarter of this year, RIM’s BlackBerry OS had 36 percent, and the iPhone sat in third with 21 percent.
